Bilt Congratulates Bilt Alliance Chairman Doug Bibby On Receiving W. Dean Henry Lifetime Achievement Award at Urban Land Institute Fall Meeting
Nov 14, 2025
NEW YORK – Nov. 14, 2025 – Bilt today extended its heartfelt congratulations to Doug Bibby, Chairman of the Bilt Alliance, who was honored with the prestigious W. Dean Henry Lifetime Achievement Award at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Fall Meeting in San Francisco this week. The award, presented before the five Multifamily Councils of ULI, reflects the awardee’s career of contributions both inside and beyond the housing industry.
Bibby, who served as President of the National Multifamily Housing Council for more than two decades before joining Bilt, was recognized for his transformative impact on the multifamily housing industry and his deep commitment to service.
"Doug's leadership of the Bilt Alliance has been instrumental in transforming how America thinks about housing," said Ankur Jain, Founder and CEO of Bilt. "His vision has helped us create incredibly meaningful value for millions of renters. This award recognizes what we get to see every day: Doug doesn't just shape policy and industry, he helps change lives."
"Doug embodies the very spirit of this award," said Kat Flowers, daughter of the late Dean Henry and presenter of the award. "Like Dad, Doug has spent his career not just leading organizations but building people and purpose."
In accepting the award, Bibby reflected on his ongoing work, including his role at Bilt and his commitment to three nonprofits close to his heart: Bridge Housing, the CLE Foundation, and Entryway (formerly known as Shelters to Shutters). These organizations align with his lifelong dedication to expanding housing opportunities and supporting communities in need.
The award comes with a $25,000 donation to a charity of the recipient's choice, made by Legacy Partners and the W. Dean Henry Award Committee. Bibby designated Entryway as the beneficiary of this gift–furthering the organization's mission to support housing access and opportunity–and continues to support Entryway on a personal basis.
Beyond his notable business achievements, Bibby was recognized for his humanitarian efforts, including co-founding the Survivors Fund after 9/11 to support families who lost loved ones at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. He has also served on the board of the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region and continues to support Shelters to Shutters, helping individuals transition from homelessness to stable employment and housing.
"Doug's life's work embodies the core of this award: that success and service are inseparable, and that our industry's true impact is in improving lives," Flowers noted in her presentation.
The W. Dean Henry Lifetime Achievement Award was established to honor leaders who demonstrate exceptional commitment to both professional excellence and community service, carrying forward the legacy of Dean Henry, former CEO of Legacy Partners and a titan of the multifamily industry.
The entire Bilt team congratulates Doug on this well-deserved recognition: a testament to a lifetime of building not just homes, but hope and opportunity for countless individuals and families.
