It all starts on 2/7. Get ready for the new Bilt Card

Feb 6, 2026

Get excited: 2/7 is the day Bilt 2.0 cardholders can begin using their new Bilt Card. Here’s what they can expect as we get ready to upgrade the Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard to the new suite of Bilt Cards.

Card upgrade will take place between 12:00AM ET and 11:00AM ET on 2/7. While cards are transitioning, purchases made with the Bilt Mastercard may be declined. We’ll send cardholders a message once the transition is complete. At this time, cardholders transitioning from the 1.0 card and net new cardholders will be able to activate their card.

Activating the new cards

Once the transition is complete, cardholders can begin using their Bilt Cards in their mobile wallets on 2/7. To kick start cardholders’ new rewards, they’ll earn 3X on mobile wallet purchases through 2/10 (up to 500 Bilt Points).¹

If the old Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard is already in cardholders’ mobile wallet, it will automatically start working as their new Bilt Card once the upgrade is complete. Their digital wallet may reflect the old design, but no action is required, and payments will still work. The card art will automatically update when they activate their physical card.

Our manufacturing partners notified us that some physical cards are expected to be shipped in the coming days (with the latest date of 2/14). They’re working 24/7 to keep up with the surge in demand we saw over the final few days of the transition window. Cardholders will be notified when their card is on its way.

In the meantime, cardholders can access their card number in their Bilt account and add their Bilt Card to their mobile wallet to begin using it.

We’ve also extended the Palladium Cardholder qualification period by 7 days. Palladium Cardholders will now have 97 days starting 2/7 to earn 50,000 points and Gold status when they spend $4,000 on everyday purchases.

Additional account updates

Balance transfers requests have been received and are being processed for cardholders who have requested one. While we prepare their transfer, they may see a temporary hold on a portion of their available credit equal to their most recent Wells Fargo balance as of 2/6. This is expected and helps ensure their balance transfer is processed correctly.

The hold will be updated on 2/9 to reflect any payments they may have made to Wells Fargo before the transfer is finalized. Their Wells Fargo balance may take a few days to update and will be fully reflected by 2/20.

For cardholders who have requested an account closure, it’s scheduled to be automatically closed within the coming week. Wells Fargo may have mailed an Autograph® Card before receiving their closure request—this can be safely ignored as it will not work. No action is required.

We’re excited to bring cardholders the newest versions of the Bilt Card and appreciate their patience during this transition. As always, our support team is here.
