Introducing: Pay for Guest in Bilt Hospitality for Dining

Someone wants to treat a friend to dinner from afar. Today, that means calling the restaurant, reading a credit card number over the phone, and hoping the staff remembers to apply it at the right table. Half the time it doesn't work. And the other half, the surprise gets spoiled because someone had to ask.

What we built

Pay for Guest inside Bilt Hospitality for Dining: a payment authorization link that restaurant operators can send to anyone, so a guest's meal can be covered without calling the restaurant or sharing a card over the phone.

Why we built it

Operators kept telling us the same thing: when someone wants to do something generous for a guest, the restaurant ends up in the middle of it. A phone call, a card number, a handoff to the server, and still no guarantee it goes smoothly. We built this so the gesture lands the way it was meant to, without any of the coordination falling on the restaurant team.

What it actually does

The operator sends a payment authorization link to whoever is covering the meal. That person completes it on their own time, on their own device – paying either the full check or a set amount. If partial, the guest covers the remainder at checkout. When completing the authorization, the person covering can add a note that appears on the guest's check as a surprise. When the check opens, the payment is already applied, and the guest is surprised. Nobody had to call anyone.

A perfect surprise moment with no coordination needed. Only with Bilt Hospitality for Dining.
